It was a warm day, but it was cloudy and threatening to rain. Which wasn't good as I had my lad on my back. Not as easy to pop a coat on when it starts to rain. So after a nappy change (for my lad), and a bite to eat we set off.
Within 50yards we were of the plotted route to go to the tower. The path to the Sir Watkins Tower was boggy. but it had been dry that week so it was manageable. The path branches off to get to the triangulation point and Sir Watkin's Tower. I am still unsure what Sir Watkin's Tower is suppose to be. To my knowledge it could of been a folly built there in the past as it now looks like an unorganised cairn. Tried to Google it, but all I found where reference to the tower built on the site prior to where Wembley Stadium was built in 1923.

After that interlude we went back to the path which then continued down hill. Not very far down we went over a stile where the path followed the edge of a pine forest. With all the standing water around, it was perfect for mozzies. And there were quite a few buzzing around. It was far fortunately and it was over another stile to join the Offa's Dyke Path. Someone had gone to a lot of trouble on this section of path. The path crosses boggy moor land. The most part has had wooden boards laid down to save the walker from having to paddle through it. It was a great landscape to be in, even on a cloudy day. We also encountered the only rain of the day on this section. Though it was only a 5 minute spell. It was just less than a mile over the moor land an d we then hit a road.

The road took us to World's End. I was while on this road the backpack that my lad was in decided to break. He was fine, just me that was left fumming. I fortunately managed to do a on the spot repair to get me back. It did mean the backpack was now lob sided.
